Palm Springs Style..

26.2.13

I am so ready to go on our trip. After being stuck indoors for days and days with one sickness after another making its way through our home, I can not wait to walk outdoors in the sun! Praying we all are well by the time we leave on Thursday.

Now that packing must become an actual reality rather than just a checklist in my head, I thought I would gather some inspiration. Only problem is that I am now dying for this outfit. Good news.. I hear shopping is pretty good where we will be. I wonder if there is a Kate Spade outlet? I NEED these sandals!

My dining room wall..

9.5.12

Remember this color palette?

Well, I feel like a miracle occurred in my household for 2 reasons..
  1. I chose a color! I allowed my love for white and my fear of color be thrown out the window and I have painted my dining room wall a lovely Peachy-Pink! (Warming Toes by Para Paints)
  2. The second miracle is that my husband actually agreed to this! I figured there was no way he would ever be okay with having such a feminine color on the wall. He agreed though, and he even painted the wall himself. What a great man I have!

I am really loving it!  I promise to get some pictures up in the future (hopefully the not-too-distant future). Now I feel like I may expand my love for color and pick some more vibrant colors for some of my other rooms! Any suggestions? What colors are you loving right now?

Dear Color..

For the love of shoes & cameras..

14.3.12

I haven't been taking many pictures lately. Probably due to the fact that we've been busy with the move and just life in general, but I have to say, I miss it. I love capturing silly moments like this. On a side note, I have been carrying my camera around just thrown in my purse with tons of other random stuff, and I pulled it out the other day and my lens (my FAVORITE lens-50mm 1.8) was broken! The front was all crooked and twisted, and I could see some metal part sticking out. I was heartbroken to say the least. My husband grabbed it and kind of just smacked it all back in to place and it worked! I couldn't believe it! I was so relieved, but I think it is definitely time to invest in one of these..
Amazing right..
I know.

Peaches & Pinks

12.3.12

We will be in our new place by the weekend, and I am getting so eager to make the place feel like home as quickly as possible! Because we are buying my Dad's house I have been able to go over there often and dream up all sorts of plans and ideas.

I found this beautiful arrangement and I have pulled some colors from it to use as inspiration for our new dining room. I love the softness of this combination of colors together. The peachy-pinks are so warm, and I think if we pair it with some rough & rustic wood pieces it will be perfect! My husband and is not really the biggest fan of all the pink.. yet.. I am sure there will have many more ideas to come. Stay tuned friends. I will post pictures as we make progress..

Got me some..

skirt love

Ashley seems to have inspired me a little.. I am now on the lookout for the perfect light, long, flowing skirt! I don't think I will have much time to shop with all the packing and moving I have to complete in the next few weeks, but I am determined to find the perfect skirt before the snow melts (which could be April or could be June.. lol) I made this nifty little inspiration board over at Polyvore. Have you heard of it? It is a pretty neat little place although it tends to be a big time waster so I don't allow myself to head over there too often!

Dear Adventure..

24.2.12

Dear Husband. Looking so forward to getting over all this crazy. We are so tremendously blessed, and hopefully soon we will be able to slow down and take.it.all.in..
Dear Bedtime. You will surely be the cause if every.single grey hair I ever have. You would think that kids would realize that bedtime is inevitable. It happens EVERY NIGHT so why must it be so traumatic?
Dear Houston. How are you so cute even when you are being outright defiant? Your "no" makes me laugh every time. I also find it funny how you steal you siblings toys and run away. You already know you are causing trouble. I am sure it won't stay cute for long and we will have to start working on your listening skills soon!
Dear Ashley. I am so excited to edit your pictures. I had so much fun on our adventureThanks for being my model (and a stunning one at that), and thanks for helping me be brave enough to trespass on people's property. I am glad that we did end up getting permission to be there though. I think I made a friend with a barn. WOOT. Well, maybe not friend, but I know I won't get shot if I go there.. so I will go back. Here is a sneak peak of your amazingness..

I am going to have so much fun with these new toys.
Jeremy, on the other hand, will probably regret ever buying them for me.
(he's not a fan of having his picture taken)

But he loves me, so he endures...
