Every year on Sienna's birthday (Christmas eve) we have gone to Chuck E Cheese!
Sienna: My princess racing as the princess.
Coen: Some serious game face.
Houston: He has to blow out the candles whether it is his birthday or not.

I can't believe this is the final week of this project. I felt nostalgic and a little sad as I typed 52/52 in place of the title. It has been an amazing experience. Thank you so much to Jodi for hosting this project! Through it I have been inspired by many (Lamb Loves Fox, Alight, This Brown Wren, Diapers and Skinny Jeans, The Stork and the Beanstalk, Expatria, Baby are just a few of the treasures I found!). I haven't yet decided if I will continue on with this project or start something new. I still have a few days to decide, right?

A mother's eyes gage time much differently than any other I feel. Those initial nights with a babe, sleepless and exhausting, are filled with wonder and awe as one tries to grasp this new reality, and time seems to stand still for a moment. Then, as babe grows, we witness every change, every first, and that is when it happens.. The revelation of times' passing. When I think back on these past 7 years that I have called her mine I can hardly believe it has been that long. There are many moments I would love to revisit, relive just once more. Oh, to hear the sweet giggles and screams of a toddler, the babblings of her first words, even those late night cries when I would spend hours rocking her to sleep.. Instead,  it plays over in my mind, something like a slideshow. All those precious moments tied together filled with such love and joy. My heart is full. I am blessed. She brings joy wherever she goes...

I got my camera back yesterday! I told the delivery guy he was my best friend.. I am so impressed with Nikon's service. I wasn't expecting to get my baby back until after Christmas so it was like an early Christmas present for me!
Sienna: This girls enthusiasm is extreme.
Coen: This gentleman already opens doors for me.
Houston: I'll have to apologize to him later on for this portrait.. Although, it really is his fault for being cranky!

This weeks portraits via the iPhone thanks to my camera needing repairs..
Sienna: Enjoying one of her gifts from her birthday party! She was so blessed. (I always feel the need to explain the pictures of strangers/models in our frames.. We got the frames from a clothing store which they used for their window displays and I haven't changed them out yet. They've only been hanging for a year already.. Doing that soon.. Seriously..)
Coen: Helping out with all of the snow. Here's hoping his enthusiasm for it remains for the next 5 months.
Houston: Messy face. Perfect light.

10 years.. Today we celebrate 10 years of marriage. That certainly ages us. As we have walked through those minutes and years I've never once doubted his ability to lead, and I am still as eager as ever to come alongside him. That may seem old fashion to some, perhaps, but because I am certain that his desire is to be obedient to the Lord I trust without hesitation. I am eager to see what unfolds before us, yet I savor the moments as we live them, knowing soon they too will be behind us as something to celebrate.

Some things to celebrate from the last 10 years:
- a wedding that was far from picture perfect. It was, however, the perfect picture of 2 young lives choosing the join together before having it all 'figured out' and completely willing to figure it out together!
- God's provision through the first 8 months of marriage when we were both students.
- While others say the first year of marriage is the most difficult, I believe it was one of our best.
- Trusting the Lord together for His direction as Jeremy finished bible college for his perfect placement. It was hard to wait on the Lord, but His faithfulness has proven true over and over again!
- The amazing opportunity to serve in the House of God alongside each other.
- a patient husband who put up with me asking for babies since the day we were married, and the day we finally agreed it was time!
- The sale of a home that paid off all student loans.
- Parents that let us live with them.. (on both sides!)
- Sienna Rae.. our fist born daughter.
- Surviving 5 moves and 3 house renovations.
- Coen Luc Jeremy.. our first born son.
- Learning to parent together. It creates a whole new dynamic for relationships.
- Making it through a season with 2 young children and me on bed rest for months. I still laugh when I remember the day they let me off strict bed rest and we went to Ikea. We barely made it a quarter of the way through and I thought I would have to be carted out!
- Houston Seth.. our 'appointed' one.
- Making time for each other in the midst of the busy-ness of life. Still loving, laughing, working together.
- A home that can house a crowd and doors that are open to doing life with others!

and best of all..
-The fact that we get to figure out the next however-many-years together!

Sienna: We celebrated her birthday this weekend, and it was so much fun! Her actual birthday is not until Christmas eve so I am going to enjoy my 6 year old for a little longer!
Coen: His advent homework for school. Writing and drawing does not com easy for him, but I was so proud of his sweet picture!
Houston: I looked at his feet the other day and thought "man, those are some big feet!" I don't think they are necessarily large for his age, but it is just another sign of a growing boy!

 I am going to have to finish out this project with iPhone pictures.. I had to send in my D800 for repair work, and I have to say I am a little traumatized to not have it around during the holidays. I need it for a wedding and some other shoots I have booked in the new year, however, so this really was the only time I could consider parting with it. Perhaps it will be a fun challenge to end this wonderful project with!! {trying to see the bright side}
