This is me

6.12.11

This is me most of the time as of late. This little one of mine has grown quite attached to me in a way neither of my other kids experienced. I will admit, there are days I tire of functioning while carrying around an extra 27 pounds of wiggly weight. Then, there are the sweet moments I am reminded of how fleeting time is.. How swiftly it is slipping away. I am struggling to embrace this concept. I do not want to mourn the loss of time. I want to 'grab it by the horns' and live intentionally and purposefully with each moment I am given. So, this is my season. My season for having a messy house but happy kids. My season for less time spent on myself and more time spent shaping these little hearts. I can choose to barrel through, or I can choose to enjoy. I am going to enjoy. Yep, this is me.

"To everything there is a season,
A time for every purpose under heaven:
A time to be born,
- And a time to die;
A time to plant,
- And a time to pluck what is planted;
A time to kill,
- And a time to heal;
A time to break down,
- And a time to buildup;
A time to weep,
- And a time to laugh;
A time to mourn,
- And a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones,
- And a time to gather stones;
A time to embrace,
- And a time to refrain from embracing,
A time to gain,- And a time to lose;
A time to keep,
- And a time to throw away;A time to tear,
- And a time to sew;
A time to keep silence,
- And a time to speak;
A time to love,
- And a time to hate;
A time of war,
- And a time of peace."
 - Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

  4. Iam in the same season and loving it! I love how you said "you don't want to mourn time lost" I struggle with that and my baby girl isn't slowing down her growing up so I need to take it by the horns! 6. I'm so touched by your post, b/c my daughter will be 17 next month, yes 17! And I've lived intentionally with her, and it has shown now, it's like the fruits of my labor are in full bloom, it's really cool to see. She is a girl of purity, and she is into relationships like I have taught her to be. Relationship with Jesus, and others is first. I love watching her grow into womanhood, even through the painful times.
    Stick with being intentional, and you will get discouraged, we all do, but just keep focusing on time time time with them.
    I have a blog where I write about parenting if you might be interested www.walkwithyourteen.blogspot.com

    Again, I am so happy you are blogging!!!

  7. Thank you for sharing that. It encourages me to press on, and keep trying to be intentional. And not worry about the mess so much....
