Dear Honesty.

19.10.12

I second guessed posting this earlier this week. Being honest about weaknesses sets you in a pretty vulnerable place. Somewhere I am not always comfortable being. In society today many like to paint a picture of perfection. I, however, am not perfect. My brush strokes are both good and bad. Only by God's grace does it all come together to create something beautiful. So, I will not manufacture perfection. I will just be real..

Well said! I struggle with parenting too. I think everyone does. I pray nightly for God to give me patience and to help me to be a better parent. There will always be moments when our kids don't listen or act out. I think how we react to those moments is so important. I can always use more patience! =)

  2. You are such a good writer! I love how you talked about the brush strokes. I am just coming to a place where it feels wonderful to be real and show my flaws. I carried around such a shield of perfection of myself and family that it wore me out! It is so much more beautiful and freeing to say now here I am, flawed but covered with grace, lets build community and help one another grow!
    Have a blessed weekend
